Gentle & calming · Dublin 1
No deep pressure, no working through knots. Warm oil, long slow strokes, a quiet room — and an hour where nothing is asked of you.
The Treatment
Relaxation massage is the opposite of deep tissue. There is no hunting for knots and no pressure you have to breathe through. The therapist uses warm oil and long, rhythmic, flowing strokes over the back, shoulders, arms and legs, keeping the pressure light to medium and — crucially — keeping it predictable.
That predictability is what lets your nervous system stand down. When your body stops anticipating the next thing, breathing slows, shoulders drop, and a lot of people simply fall asleep. That is not a waste of the session; that is the session working.
Nothing is diagnosed or corrected here. You are not being fixed. It is an hour of deliberate, unhurried quiet in the middle of Dublin 1 — which, if your week has been relentless, is exactly the right prescription.
Simple rule: if you would describe the problem as stress, book relaxation. If you would describe it as pain or stiffness in one place, book deep tissue. If it is honestly both, the 90 minute session covers the two.
The Feeling
Within ten minutes most people are breathing noticeably deeper without trying.
Falling asleep on the table is common and completely fine.
Chat if you want to. Stay silent the whole way through if you would rather.
Benefits
An hour with no phone, no screen and nobody needing anything from you does something no evening on the sofa quite manages.
Our latest appointments run to 10:00 PM specifically because so many clients book relaxation massage as the last thing before bed.
Light, consistent pressure across the whole body loosens things gradually — good if strong massage has been too much for you before.
If you have never had a professional massage, this is the one to start with. Nothing intense, nothing unexpected.
Two minutes from Connolly Station. People come in between meetings, before a train, or on the way home from work.
Our tagline is Your Time to Relax, and this is the treatment it was written for.
Relaxation massage is a comfort treatment, not medical treatment. If you are pregnant, recovering from an injury or operation, or managing a health condition, check with your doctor first and let your therapist know before you start.
Your Visit
Second floor of 94 Talbot Street. No booking needed — walk in any day between 10:30 AM and 10:00 PM, or ring ahead for a set time.
The therapist asks whether you want light or medium pressure and whether any area should be avoided. That is about it — there is no long consultation for this treatment.
You undress to your comfort level in private and lie under a towel. You are covered the whole time apart from the area being worked on.
Warm oil and long flowing strokes, usually starting at the back and shoulders, then arms and legs. The rhythm stays steady the whole way through.
The therapist finishes gently and leaves you a moment before you get up — worth taking, because standing up too fast after deep relaxation is a head-rush.
Have a glass of water. A hot shower is available on request. Most people feel pleasantly heavy and calm for the rest of the evening.
We keep a dedicated ladies massage on the price list — an express relaxation session at €50 for 30 minutes, or a full hour at €80. Same gentle approach, same private rooms.
Durations & Prices
Payment: Cash and card accepted. Card payments carry a €3 processing fee added to the prices above. The price you see is the price you pay. The 90 minute session pairs relaxation strokes with deeper work if you want both.
Getting Here
City Massage Dublin is on the 2nd floor of 94 Talbot Street, Dublin 1 — right in the middle of Dublin city centre. If you arrive by train or DART into Connolly Station, walk out the front and straight down Talbot Street: you are at our door in about two minutes.
Coming by bus, Busáras is the same short walk away, and the Luas Red Line stops at Connolly and Abbey Street. If you work around the IFSC, O'Connell Street or Amiens Street, we are close enough for a 30 minute treatment on a lunch break.
That makes us easy to reach from anywhere in Dublin — and easy to fit in before a train home. We are open 7 days, 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM, so late evening appointments after work are no problem.
